5. Motion made and carried to adopt 2008 minutes with the two noted corrections.
6. Rogers Meredith presented a biography of the Presbytery’s namesake, John Calvin.
7. Motion made and carried to thank R Meredith for his work and adopt the biography.
8. The report of CREC Council Presiding Minister J Phelps was read by J Stoos. Motion was made and carried to take note of the report.
9. Church reports were made:

Christ Reformed Church, Meeker, CO. T Johnson offered prayer.
Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Fallon, NV. B Allison offered prayer.
Emmanuel Covenant Church, Glendale, AZ. Prayer offered by M Ferguson.
Christ Church, Santa Clarita, CA. Prayer offered by Rob Holley.
Trinity Covenant Church, Santa Cruz, CA. R Meredith prayed.
Trinity Reformed Church, Edgewood, NM. A Richardson prayed.
Blake Purcell gave a report on the Russian churches in St. Petersburg and Pushkin and on the Slavic Reformation Society. M Denna offered prayer.
10. The examination committee for A Richardson commended him on his pastoral instincts but expressed concern with his biblical knowledge. The committee recommended that he be ordained with the stipulation that before ordination he work under the supervision of J Niell and G Craw to study 15 OT books and 10 NT books. Craig Thiessen moved, T Johnson seconded that the report be adopted. Motion passed.
11. PM Stoos reported that the Presbytery function under the Book of Procedures of Anselm Presbytery as amended in 2007. J Niell moved to adopt the Anselm BOP as Calvin Presbytery BOP. B Purcell seconded. Motion passed.
12. Motion by J Niell, second by G Craw to hold the 2010 presbytery meeting at Zephyr Point Conference Center, with a worship service, on 28-29 September 2010.
13. Motion by B Purcell, second by T Johnson to commit to bringing Oleg Volkhov to Calvin Presbytery’s 2010, with each US church informing PM Stoos by December 1, 2009 of the funds they can contribute to travel expenses, which are estimated to be $1000.
14. Discussion was had about a project to study apostacy of denominations. No action was taken.
15. Request was made that PM Stoos indicate the costs involved in his presbyterial duties. He indicated that the funds set aside by Church of the King have been used. PM Stoos asked the churches to consider contributing to the expenses of presbytery and council.
16. J Niell made public thanks and recognition to PM Stoos for his service.
17. R Meredith moved, M Ferguson seconded to adjourn. Motion carried at 5:50 pm.

5. Elder Richard Klaus read the report from the Presiding Minister of Council.
6. Discussion was opened on the denominational name change proposal. A motion was made to change the denominational change. Results: 3 for and 4 against the name change proposal. The motion failed.

8. Discussed transfer of sponsorship of Trinity Reformed Church, Edgewood, NM (mission church) from Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Fallon, NV.
9. Conferred about the next presiding minister of presbytery.
10. Presiding minister John Stoos reported on his involvement with the situation at Emmanuel Covenant Church, Glendale, AZ.
11. Discussed procedures and location for the 2011 presbytery/synod.
12. Tim Tucker made public thanks and recognition to PM Stoos for his service.
13. Rogers Meredith made motion, Michael Ferguson seconded to adjourn. Motion carried at 4:55 p.m.
